Karol´s knowledge and experience of Howard County comes from living and working for many years in the area. She and her husband, Jamie, raised their children in Columbia. They participate in many community activities and visit with their adult sons and their families. When she isn´t working, Karol remains busy as a member of Howard County Chamber of Commerce, the Coalition for Geriatric Services as well as being an active member at her church, Glen Mar United Methodist Church.
